May, 2024
Opening day will be May 24th, 2024
The pool is the perfect place to meet and get to know your neighbors. We have a great community here in Timbercrest. Come down to the pool and wade into our community. For information visit: https://timbercrestneighborhood.org/pool
Off-season work at the pool
If you’ve been down at the park, you may have noticed some changes at the pool. The maintenance committee identified a leak in the main drain pipe. Repairing the leak required excavation between the pump house and the pool. Along with the repair to the pipe itself, the pump house was re-plumbed, the electrical updated, and the structure was re-enforced. The retaining wall was replaced and expanded to accommodate the main drain pipe correctly. This resulted in about 25 more square feet of deck space.
This repair also allows the filters and pump to work more efficiently to pull particles from the water which will lead to a clearer and more easily maintained pool. Plus we gained extra room!
Timbercrest’s own Knox Out Contracting did an amazing job on the repairs.
The entire deck and furniture are sparkling clean because of time and expertise from our neighbors, Buell Pressure Washing.
Gate lock replacement
The TRC board is in the process of replacing the locking mechanism for the gate. We are working with the city inspectors and gate company to ensure the replacement is correct. The new lock will re-use the same keys. Contact the pool board if you need a key.
Donating and Volunteering
As our pool continues to age, we are faced with various maintenance and beautification projects which are required to ensure that our pool continues to be safe and enjoyable. The dedicated, volunteer board and maintenance committee have been able to do the following updates and repairs with our limited budget over the past 5 years:
- Replace the entire perimeter of the pool
- Replumb the pool house and restrooms
- Rewire the pool house and pump house
- Construct a storage shed
- Replumb the pumphouse and drain
- Reroof the pool house
These projects are a significant expense. Even if you are not a pool member, the pool increases your home’s property value. With your donation we can make the pool and our neighborhood nicer.
Consider donating to the pool: https://timbercrestneighborhood.org/pool/donating
You can also donate your time. The pool is a great place to be because of the volunteers that sustain it from year to year. There are always many things that need to be done. There’s a job that is right for everyone! You will be asked about which areas you will volunteer for in 2024 in your registration. We are looking for a few more dedicated maintenance members. Thank you for all the hours you have already put into this pool and park.
