Small grants available for vegetable and herb gardens

The Timbercrest Neighborhood Association, the Governor's Foundation for Health and Wellness, and Mayo Garden Center are proud to announce that we will be offering a small grant program to Timbercrest residents that would like to plant vegetable and/or herb gardens. Please see the attached document for more information and an application. Good luck!

Timbercrest Community Garden Kickoff

Bring your shovels screwdrivers, drills and hammers. We will set up 3 4ft x 4ft raised beds. This will largely be set up and planning. We will plant if we have time.

Needed before Saturday:

  • Several pieces of tall bamboo
  • Someone with a saw to help cut bamboo into 4 foot and 5 foot segments to make the vertical frames for tomatos and cucumbers.

Preplanning: please let us know if you plan to provide plants.
We currently have:

Community Garden

A great community garden was developed by one local resident. Donated crops and items were used to develop the garden. This is just one of the many great examples of a resident bringing forth an awesome idea and making it happen!
