February Neighborhood Meeting
With the new year, we as a community are excited about the opportunities for the improvement of our neighborhood. In order to achieve a new year’s resolution of bettering our community in 2016, a neighborhood meeting has been scheduled for February 16, 2016 at Elks Lodge (5600 Lonas Drive, bottom level) from 7-8:30PM. Please plan to attend so that we can vote on ideas for neighborhood improvement.
Develop New Leadership
At the beginning of 2015, a meeting was held to start a neighborhood association. The purpose of the neighborhood association is to improve the neighborhood, fight crime and blight, and to create a sense of community. All neighborhood associations help to make Knoxville a more livable city. During 2015, the Timbercrest Neighborhood Association was officially created. A pilot program was conducted by a select group of residents to assess whether our community would show interest in community events. The response was extremely positive. Due to the outstanding interest demonstrated by our neighborhood residents, it was decided that our Timbercrest Neighborhood Association needs official leadership. During the upcoming neighborhood meeting, a vote will take place for the following officer postions: President, Vice-President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and Treasurer(s). Please come to cast your vote!
